    Blind man robbed at gunpoint

A 60-year-old man was waiting for a taxi when an armed gunman stole his bag.

A blind Orlando man was robbed at gunpoint while waiting for a taxi, according to police.

The 60-year-old man was waiting outside of the Lexington Park Apartments on Westgate Drive around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when a man with a gun took his bag, a report shows.

The gunman pushed the weapon into the man's side then told the victim "Give me the bag, what is in the bag, give it to me," before yanking it off of the victim's arm, according to a report.

The leather bag contained a digital recorder and prescription medicine.

Shortly after the suspect ran off, the cab arrived and the victim left. He waited two days to report the crime because he was shaken up, police reports indicate.
I can think of a few just punishments, none of which are repeatable.

I keep saying that Orlando (and Jax) are extra mag towns...the mayor needs to set up sniper patrols for these kinds of dirtbags.

    Perhaps I'm being to harsh?

There's a special place in Hell for people that not only rob someone, but a bland man? Come on, at least check someone who can fight back, make it interesting.

"Sir, can you describe the weapon to us ? "
    Buddy, I"m blind !!!
"so, you don't know if there really was a weapon " .

That would be interesting. However our laws would apply since "the threat of a weapon" is considered the same as having one, even if later it was found out to be the person's finger in their coat pocket.

Like one case where the woman was robbed by 2 black men. In testifying in the court case on the one they caught, they asked if she could identify who robbed her and if they were in the courtroom. She pointed out the defendant and the police officer in plain clothes sitting in the back (because he was black) , and told them " it was those two" .

She was the only witness and evidence. Case dismissed.

The chances they'll solve this one, will be slim to none.

Why is it that every time someone is robbed or attacked we need to feel sorry for the perp? The same song and dance he was a nice guy you don't understand he was under stress. Well, welcome to the real world so is everyone else. At what point in society are we going to stop feeling sorry for people who steal and threaten our safety for just another high?*** is wrong with people? Is it to much to just go to work and make an honest living? Really, *** is wrong with people this **** happens all over, and they are getting more brazen!
