HOUSTON Ė Police said a homeowner catches two suspected burglars in the act and stabs one who was holding his television set. It happened in the 10000 block of Bowman in north Houston. The homeowner arrived home to find a suspicious truck parked in front of his house, according to police. Two suspects had kicked in the front door of his home.

The homeowner retrieved a knife and confronted a suspect who was holding his television. The homeowner lunged at the suspect, stabbing him. The knife went through the suspect's arm and into his chest.

The other suspect fled the scene. The injured suspect told police that he thought it was the other suspectís home. Itís one if those deniable accountability alibis,Ē said Officer Jim Adkins, of HPDís Investigator First Responder Division. The injured suspect was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The injured suspect told police that he thought it was the other suspect’s home.
That's why they kicked the door in

At least the homeowner took a 'stab' at getting his T.V. back.

Wondering.... Can you defend property (TV) with deadly force in TX? Or is a knife stab not considered deadly force?

If I'm not mistaken, in TX you can use deadly force to defend your neighbor's property as well as your own. I think a knife stab is labeled "assault with a deadly weapon."

Was the TV dropped?!?! I hope no TV's were hurt

I'm glad the homeowner got a piece of the perp, hopefully the jury will take it from there.

Another news site said it was a kitchen knife.

""Whenever he confronted him, he grabbed a knife, a butcher knife, and stabbed one of them in the arm and it went into his chest," said HPD Officer Jim Adkins."

The term is "borrowing" not stealing.

One of the most dangerous political philosophies afflicting America today is the belief that we canít allow anyone to suffer the natural consequences of their own stupidity.
