Such "jokes" get people killed, some of them by CCW heroes or even by experienced cops who assume what they feel and see to be obvious and true, not just fools playing with guns or toys like girls and boys.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.
...It is a CO2 powered BB gun by Crosman.
It looks almost exactly like the real thing (I have had it side to side n hand next to a real Walther P99 Compact).
Is the same size, shape, is black with _no orange tip_, and it as weighs nearly same and an empty P99C. It even has real air powered blowback slide action with each shot (!).
Anyone would be quite hard pressed to tell the difference between it and a real gun at 3' distant examination never mind driving by as in a car looking at others in a another car.
Airsoft guns too now days look just as 'real'. One cannot know, for sure.

P.S. - I use this gun to practice point shooting at home and at the range when working with newbie shooters to introduce and focus on the fundamentals of firearm safety & handling including grip, sight alignment and trigger control as before introducing a 'real' gun (.22LR).
Like all of my other guns it gets treated like any other kept stored locked and with it's magazine removed and locked away separately with my other real gun mags. No kidding. The BBs and CO2 powerlets are kept in my range kit.
