HEADS UP!!! Site has personal info
While lurking on another site I came across a thread with this url:
http://www.spokeo.com/
I was not on there but they did have my wife's old address along with her parents who still live there and they also had a few of my friends current addresses.
Some of the info is way off...but still check it out. If your info is there, click the privacy link at the bottom on the right side of the page.
Just a heads up

It has a very old address for me on it. I'm not worried about that. I'm not going to give them my e-mail address to remove worthless information.

They got my address right, but most of the other stuff is wrong. could have gotten that out of the phone book.

Nothing on me but info on some of my family is correct.
Seems to be mostly public information anyway, the exact same stuff you find in the phone book. Maybe that's why I'm not on there, I have no land-line telephone so I don't appear in phone books.

Totally off on my stuff and my wife's. Don;t know where the info comes from, but there's much better info available on Google.

Evidently my wife is 20+ years older than me and my home has increased in value 10 fold. Damn I'm glad someone told me that I have a million dollar homestead!

Very few people are totally invisible online these days.
Thankfully a lot of the info available for most people tends to be incomplete or inaccurate.
Still, it's a little unnerving, is it not?

The link isn't working for me...
Guns don't kill people, people kill people...and chimps do, if they have a gun

I'm glad that the info was wrong for you guys
Not so for another guy I told....they had his credit score, income all that stuff.
But yah, it does make you pause a second when you realize that the info is that easy to come across....

I'm guessing they have his credit score and all the up to date and accurate info on your friend because he is more than likely very free about having that info available. I would guess that he has taken very little steps towards on line security.
I could be mistaken though, but that's my guess.

Thanks.
This thread spurred me to do the free annual credit report thing. Now that led to an interesting thing or two.

Looks like everyone has a house valued at 1M+.
My address was correct, and everything else was wrong.
