And the ethanol / corn syrup mix makes even less power....

I was really upset to find out that my 16hp mower engine was really only 15.2hp. I would never of bought it if I knew that, no wonder it can barely cut the grass. Too many lawyers? Hmmmm. I wonder if lawnmowers will cost more in the near future?
I know what you're thinking: "Did he fire six shots or only five?" "Is that a Smith & Wesson 686+ 7 shot or 627 8 shot?" "Does he have a concealed Sig P226 SCT and two spare mags?" You've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?

So this is about people complaining their lawnmower isn't exactly the HP on the label?

    ow.... my head...

I want to see the lawnmower dyno they are using!
There is something about firing 4,200 thirty millimeter rounds/min that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Yeah I work on my own equipment when there is no longer a warranty, and have more than once noted damage due to the rotten fuel we are forced into using now...

Maybe they mean horsepower at ther blade tip.....

ALWAYS insist on having your lawnmower engines run and tuned on the dyno by well respected engine builder / engineer before you buy it. A $2000 day on the dyno is worth the hassle of not getting out on the lawn on and finding out the your new 5 hp Briggs & Stratton in down .3 hp and it's straining to trim your 3.75" lawn down to 2.5". It is also a good idea to have your engine ported, stroked, and blueprinted and of course, only run Sunoco 112 octane leaded race fuel.

Be sure to double check the wheel alignment also, you spend a lot of money on those fine plastic wheels, you don't want it pulling under braking or getting loose at the limit on corner exit.

I would actually be more concerned about the torque. When I mow I'm all about the pulling power off the line and out of the corners, though I must say, there is nothing sweeter than the sound of an finely tuned 5 hp (or 4.7 hp) coming on cam as you accellerate down the straights.

I got a notice 2 years ago re: Ipod cases getting scratched up due to no carring cases sold with them. Last week I got a check for $35.00. So, check it out before you decide to opt out.

I wouldn't do that, but it might be a good idea for an engine manufacturer to do some actual tests before stamping a false HP rating on an engine.

I for one wouldn't want to buy a few hundred rounds of SD ammo that is touted to have a velocity of 1100 fps and expand 150% only to find out it didn't expand at all and only went down range at a cowboy action mousefart speed of 750 fps.
