Man's life trashed in waste-bin race

Australian man died yesterday after the wheeled-garbage can he was riding in a downhill race crashed into a tree.
The victim, 22, climbed into the trash can with a 19-year-old pal to roll down a slope in New South Wales, authorities said.
But on their way down, they hit a gutter and smacked into a tree. The 22-year-old suffered massive head injuries and died at a hospital.
His friend broke his ribs and suffered other internal injuries.
A third pal escaped injury.

Those crazy Aussies.... I am wondering of what part of rolling down hill in a garbage can they thought was a good idea?

What ever happened to sledding down a muddy hill with snow shovels?

I have to wonder if this is a guy on another forum I know... He's about that age and once modified a shopping cart for downhill riding. He put a wire cage over the top and padded the inside with quilts.

So as the wipeout happened you could see parts of the cart and operator fly out of the dust ball?

I didn't know it had gotten that boring over there that they were dreaming up things to do, and had gotten this desperate.

Watch next dumpster will require seat belts, air bags, side air bags and a license to roll.
