You need a passport, and if working, you need a visa.
You MUST carry identification.
Whoa! I guess they're not all warm and fuzzy!
If you are a legal immigrant here (like my wife) you have to carry your green card or visa with you at all times. Once she becomes a US citizen she will no longer have to carry around any ID

The lack of knowledge in your comment is astounding.

My post concerned what you must carry as an immigrant IN MEXICO. Not what a legal US immigrant needs to carry.

If Shakira doesn't like the laws of this nation, she should feel free to leave and not come back. I'll even call to book her flight, she has to pony up for the one way ticket, though. On that note, I might ought to break out and don the flame retardant suit.

I had an opportunity to see Kris Kobach yesterday. He drafted the Arizona bill. He has also helped draft three other bills, all of which were tried in court, and all of them withstood a constitutional review.
Arizona's new law will be upheld by the courts also.
Kobach is a constitution professor at M.U.
Kudo's, Mr. Kobach.
Job well done!
BTW, Kobach also helped draft a bill in Missouri, disallowing sanctuary cities for illegals.
The state-run media is making up lies about the Arizona bill and is fanning the flames of hatred across the country.
Can you imagine if 20 million impoverished Americans invaded Canada and said:
We're here and you can't do anything about it.
We're going to take away your jobs and you can stick it where the sun doesn't shine.
You WILL change your laws to accommodate us and make us legal Canadian citizens.
Do you think that would go over very well with the Canadians?
I don't think so.
So, I ask you, WHY SHOULD WE accept it?
Our federal government has turned a blind eye to the illegal invasion of our country.
There are those on the left who aid and abet illegals at every opportunity.
All I can say is: GET OUT AND VOTE IN NOVEMBER.
Sometimes on a clear day, I can see into the future with this spotting scope.

It's not a "blind eye" but a government smaller in scope, and I like it.
Vote for less taxes, less government (small government) and empowerment of individuals. Human rights to seek life liberty and happiness (where respecting those same rights of all) trump government plans to the contrary. The government-for-government's-sake mentality is a concept that the founding of this country meant to oppose.
We probably agree that government tries to be too many things (take Obamacare, please)' but a government that does things less intrusively is a good start.
Americans understood the right of self-preservation as permitting a citizen to repel force by force
when the intervention of society... may be too late to prevent an injury.

Good idea Patti.
I say we should give it a shot. Heck there's only around 33 million Canadians anyway. Sending up 20 million of our citizens to Canada is a drop in the bucket for us.
Look at all the new land we'd be able to take over!
And we'll tell the Canuk's we're bringing our guns too!
Where to I sign up for Patti's new experiment? Who's with me?

About 72% according to Numbers USA......
key word ILLEGAL, as in breaking the law, as in criminal act, as in contrary to what any legitimate citizen wants.....
So if you are not illegally here then this is a non issue, and if you are then you are a criminal and should not expect preferential treatment.
