Yes, illegal immigration is a drain on the economy
No, This is based on bigotry
No opinion

I support the Arizona 100%, wish Texas would pass the same or more stringent bill here.

Is it just me, or does the media only ever show the people talking about the negative side of the bill? And most of them are spouting untrue, emotional lies trying to make us think it is racist. I haven't seen or listened to one MSM news report that had anyone supporting the bill.

Have you ever noticed that the Left is against anything that benefits the nation. they have operated that way since the 1960's when they openly supported our enemies with their so called peace movement.
They protest any kind of ecomonic development under the guise of "protecting" the environment. The result is that we are dependent on foreign oil and have to import a multitude of other products that are available domestically. The net result is damage to our economy, loss of jobs and higher prices due to transport costs.
The reasoning behind illegal immigration is two fold. First, wreck our economy and infrastructure supporting millions of untrained, illiterate and unskilled peoples. Lets face it, how many landscapers and deep fry cooks do we need?
second, the establishment of a permanent welfare class that would keep the democrats in power forever, insuring never ending tax increases and a steady supply of amnesty seekers who know who to thank at election time.

Immigration (illegal or otherwise) is not the problem.
The problem is
a) employers needing unskilled labor
b) minimum wage and benefits laws discourage employers from hiring legitimate residents
c) Americans would rather collect welfare than perform manual labor
d) Illegal immigrants tend to use more of the government welfare programs without contributing as much in taxes.
The solution to our problems do not lie in immigration reform, but in eliminating the socialist programs.

Honestly none of the poll options express how I feel.
Come on folks. I was hoping for more participation.
This problem is so big now that it's almost turned into one of the "too big to fix" /" too big to fail" problems.
I chose No Opinion, because the economic drain is just one of the many problems that illegal immigration presents. IMO

Zacii, you were right the first time. The poll is unintentionally biased. Wrong wording and wrong alternatives.
FIRST---There probably is almost no one who doesn't agree with the first statement-- that illegal immigration is a drain on the economy.
SECOND- That first question has nothing to do with the question which follows, " is the bill based on bigotry."
These are two separate questions and you can't look at the % answer to the first and say look, there is lots of support for the bill. Because, all that is asking about is whether you think illegal immigration is a drain on the economy.
Similarly, you can't look at the second question in isolation-- do you think it is based on bigotry. There are many reasons besides bigotry which might cause people to oppose that bill.
The poll poses a false dichotomy. You had it right with your initial comment.
Read the bill. It mimics Federal law. I am behind it 100% and let them try and take this to court. They would have to repeal federal law too. The Fed has no busniess sticking its nose in this, it is a state matter.

I support it 100% and wish Texas would do the same.
Since our Federal Government will not act, I fully believe every State should follow Arizona's example. It is not just a border State problem.
