I was going to move to the UK, but I refuse to learn their language.

What part of Italy? My family came over in the early 1900's from Altomonte.

When I worked retail I had a Palestinian man that would carry a little notepad with him. Whenever I said a new word he would write it down and have me repeat it several times. This usually would tie up more of my time but I was glad to help him because he tried. He told me that he was enrolled in English classes and hadn't been in the country all that long. This gentleman was probably in his 70's and would always say "my English not so good you help me do better".

If you are an immigrant you should at least have a basic grasp of the language of that country.

Are you saying I don't speak no good English?

I agree with bi-lingual NO TRESPASSING signs on the border. Gotta draw a line somewhere, why not the border.
