Ban the US Flag at US schools Fox Poll

There is a poll on Fox news asking if schools should not fly our flag if it causes tennisons with the "Children".

No. This is a lame decision. Teach the kids what the flag means, instead of banning it. 45% (118,150 votes)

Yes. The safety of students comes first. 54% (143,496 votes)

Not sure, but of all things to ban, the American flag would seem the least 'incendiary.' <1% (1,090 votes)

Am I reading this correctly? Is the response actually that people think flying the flag in front of a school compromises their kid's safety?? YIKES.

I worked in a Federal Bldg for 33 years and the flag flew every day including on days when weather should have caused it to be taken down. I never ever thought that made the bldg a target. And it is entirely appropriate that any facility which is government (local, state, or Federal) have a flag display.

If a nut wants to target a school they will identify the school by the Speed Limit signs on the street nearby; or by the school zone warnings on Tom Tom GPS maps.

We'd be giving terrorists exactly the wrong signal if we were to do what the present majority in that pole want---- give up a freedom for security, nah!

If they think it's a safety issue, fly it on all buildings, then none stand out more than the other, and none is more of a target.

This kind of stuff just pisses me off.

The flag should be flown on ALL public buildings--period. And, IMHO, in front of every red blooded American's house, as well. Too many American service men and women have given their lives for that flag and what it stands for to dishonor them by NOT flying it!
