A friend is taking an NRA gunsmithing course at Montgomery Community College (Troy, NC) in a few weeks, and afterwards he's off to a rifle match a couple of states away. Not sure yet where he's staying while at the course, but he's concerned about securing his pricey rifle when he's in class - simply locking it in the car trunk (if the case even fits in the trunk of the rental!) doesn't seem too secure. Leaving it in the hotel room isn't reassuring, either.
Any suggestions?

A sling and a smile....LOL. No really just request an SUV at rental, and take "cover garments" in case it doesn thave a cargo curtain.
