Talking Found out today it's going to be a boy!!

Well, some of you have known from my Para 10mm conversion thread that my wife and I are expecting our first child Ocober 26th. She is 20 weeks along, everything is still going great. We went for the ultrasound this morning (Wednesday) and found out it is going to be a boy!! Cool.

Looks like Skelator. Seriously. Baby is about 4-4.5" long and weighs approx 13oz. The WebMD print off of week by week expectations (really cool) said it should be 5.5-6" long and 8.5-9 oz. Great, my kid isn't even born yet and it is already short and fat!!

They kept the same due date (10-26) but my wife thought she was about a week or two farther along than what they think. Time will tell. I know there is a four week buffer for due date, medically speaking. We normally say pregnancy for 9 months, but they base gestation on 40 weeks or 10 months.

We got into a squabble about names, but we calmed down now and are trying to compromise. She likes Dean and I absolutely hate it. It was her grandfather's name and I personally think naming after family members is outdated and shows lack of creativity (no offense to anyone else). My compromise that I offered was she can have Dean for the middle name, but I get to pick the first name and she of course has to like it too. She seems content with that, but we will see how that goes.

She got to pick the girl name, Kerri Jo, after her friend that got killed in December. I put up no resistance whatsoever to that, even though I hate the name Kerri too. So if the next one is a girl, it is going to be Kerri Jo.

I know it isn't about winning or losing, but I feel like I should be obligated to choose a boy name, since I am the father. She should choose a girl name since she is the mother (if it was a girl).

Oh well, enough of me pouting. Time to celebrate.

    Congrats,

We still have the ultrasound printouts from our little guy. Including the one showing "male" they are really origional when typing notes on the printout.

Our little man is going to be three in Sept. It's great.

Good luck on the name, We got into some scuffles about that too.

Be carefull with the printout's they give you, They are done on heat activated paper. The printer uses heat to make the paper display an image. My wife tried to laminate one, and the heat turned the paper totaly black. We scanned the others and still have the origionals too.

Awesome news! My wife and I were running in circles about the name of our second little man. We couldn't agree on anything so we each wrote down 10 names on a piece of paper and them compared the notes. We found 3 names we had both writen down and then decided from there based on which names wouldn't get him stuffed in a locker, which ones didn't have some really stupid nickname someone could call him, etc. Seemed to wrok out pretty good!
