Just one of the differences between Texas and California...
Just one of the differences between Texas and California...
________________________________
Situation:
Governor of the state is jogging with his dog along a trail. Coyote jumps out
and starts to attack dog.
Case #1 California:
#1. Governor goes to intervene, get's bit, backs away realizing he should leave
it be; the coyote is doing what is natural.
#2. Calls animal control. Animal control captures coyote and eventually spends
$200 testing it for diseases and $500 relocating it to a more natural setting.
#3. Calls Vet. Veterinarian collects dead dog and spends $200 testing the dead
dog for diseases.
#4. Governor goes to hospital and spends $3500 getting checked for diseases from
the coyote and having the bite wound bandaged.
#5. Running trail is shut down for 6 months while wildlife services conduct a
$100,000 survey to assure the area is clear of all dangerous animals.
#6. Governor spends $50,000 and starts a coyote awareness program for people
who live in the area.
#7. State legislature allocates $2 million investigating how to better handle
rabies and how to possibly eradicate it.
#8. Governor’s security agent fired for not stopping the attack and letting the
Governor try to intervene.
#9. Cost $75,000 to train new security agent.
#10. PETA raises protest march regarding the relocation of the coyote.
Case #2 Texas:
#1. Governor spends $1.23 on a .45 ACP Gold Dot Hollow Point and he and the
dog keep jogging.
And you wonder why California is Broke?
If you understand, things are just as they are... If you do not understand, things are just as they are....

He actually shot the coyote with a .380. I like the comparison though.

Probably more accurate than we want to think. I remember when the Cougar attacked the woman on a hiking trail in California and the things they did.... some of which fit what's described here. In Texas, it would have been shot and the skin lying on someone's couch.

Makes CA's problems pretty clear, doesn't it?
"That I cannot do."
"Give this to, uh, Clemenza. I want reliable people, people who aren't going to be carried away. After all we're not murderers in spite of what this undertaker thinks."
