Cool What's on the grill today? (raw pork at 5 AM just ain't right)

I was up at 4:45 this morning and warming up the grill. There's something fairly horrible about handling 25 pounds of raw pork at that hour of the day but it doesn't take long to chunk it on the grill and plunk down for more coffee.

4 pork shoulders on the grill just outside the barn door. I can't go back to bed .... it wouldn't be right (or very wise). The press is set up for 45 so I think I'll start loading.

Big shindig today. My son graduated Appalachian State a couple of weeks ago (if you're from Michigan, you've probably heard of that school). Everybody coming round the farm. Beans, slaw, homemade ice cream, cheap beer in cans, pecan pies, ticks & chiggers, 4 wheelers, Mom & Dad (I'm very lucky), too many dogs, folks dressed for a backyard picnic instead of a farm visit, a pile of 21 year old lunatics, my wifes bbq sauce, cheap beer in cans, a couple of cats, energy drink about noon, discussions on how much hay has already been lost to the weather, neighbors that aren't getting along so well, multiple discussions on guns, fresh strawberries, talk of my neighbor's new square baler, horse talk, truck talk, ammo talk, work talk, fishing talk, tractor talk, grill talk and a bit of peach in the jar. Oh, and cheap beer in cans.

So what's going on your grill today?

So many folks going to that PM9. I wish you well with it. Must be a heck of a great gun.

I cancelled all my grilling today...........cause I'm coming to your house ! What time?

Seriously I've been up early like that, starting the grill etc, never have been able to go back to sleep. You are correct, raw meat isn't particularly appealling at that time of day.

That sounds wonderful. It reminds me of an annual family reunion that we used to have at a lake house up at Lake Thurmond. I miss those days. Enjoy!

Sausage and chicken if the rain holds off. And, yes, we are familiar with Appalachian State. 'Nough said!

Congratulations for the graduate. Have a great day today!

BTW, raw pork at 5 AM is indeed wrong. You should have had that on by 3:30! Loafing in bed until 4:45 when there is MEAT to be cooked, you should be ashamed!

If you have never broken your gun or bled on your gun in training, you're doing it wrong!

Foods on at 3:30 but the peach jar may come out soon. Already decided that I didn't get enough sleep to do much loading. Got to be nothing less than 100% for that and I'm not. 30 rounds, primer feeder was acting up, neighbor was already over talking (I can't do that while I'm loading), my wife wants "stuff". Never mind. Load later.

Roadrunner.....3:30? Yikes. I skipped that cause I put the voodoo on da meat. Sleep Late Voodoo Sauce.....yeah....that's the ticket.

Yesterday it was a 10.5 lb sirlion tip roast, threw some baking potatoes for the last 1.5 hours. UPS delivered my 12lbs of powder and 9000 primers. USPS delivered my 2000 158g lead HPSWC the day before. Spent a couple of hours loading 38 spl. Then spent a couple hours drinking cold beer with neighbors and eating. Followed by fishing and more cold beer.

You all are making me hungry! I think we'll be rained out for the grill today, so it's going to be fried shrimp and some saute'd scallops. Not a bad back-up plan

I need to be at your homestead!

Me and the young 'un got the afternoon to ourselves (the girls bailed to a dance recitial). We're going to the water park. It's a lazy day and going swimming seems like a good thing to do.

    Congrats to your boy!
