    If you like trains....

This will blow your mind. All of the pictures in this thread belong to the brother of a guy that works for me. He had told me about it in the past, but I had no idea.....

Incredible! I really like trains (even worked for a RR for seven years) - had no idea anybody built the garden trains to this kind of scale.
    Thanks for posting this!!

    That is one serious operation.

I grew up with a couple of 4x8 sheets of plywood and some of the smaller trains in the basement. They are sitting in my garage...maybe I should resurrect them for the kids.

Wow Bumper - that takes me back a long way.

An uncle, long passed on now - did back in 60's and 70's indulge in this quite seriously and was an engineer of course. Had a couple of loco's and was building another right up till when he died. I inherited a lot of his machine stuff.

His club was moderately local and had an excellent long oval track - set up as a multi gauge deal so - could run large stuff able to pull people round, right down to the lil' fellas.

Always fascinated me - something about steam. Messy but a certain romance.

That layout was incredible. I used to play around with the HO stuff, it's probably a good thing I never found the big stuff.

It looked like those trains were R/C, were they? I thought I saw one of the kids with a controller.

We have a guy near us that trains running throughout 15 acres and he opens it to the public once a month. But these are actually trains that you can ride with a full roundhouse and indoor storage. It is really awesome.

Small scale ones Rick could on reflection well have some RC control - mainly I guess throttle control for most part.

Most of the small loco's I remember way back were big enough to haul a few folks and so had a driver.
