    I've seen this photo before. I think it's from Pershing's 1916 Punitive Expedition into Mexico. What MGs did the Army use back then?

    It looks to be either.....

    The 1895/1914 Colt-Browning, this was in service until the Browning M1917.

    OR

    1917 Marlin Gun, I doubt it was this one though, since it was primarily used on aircraft. (it worked well with interrupter gear, that kept pilots from shooting their propellers )

    OR

    Hotchkiss 8mm M1914 (without stock)- French Army's standard MG
