Unfortunately in the "spirit" of granting equal rights to all religions no matter what they do or how they believe, this Mosqe will be a done deal.

Our Liberal leaning government will see to it.

Building this mosque where they are attempting to build it, is "in-your-face-offensive." If their intentions were truly noble and well-meaning, they would've given up the project long ago as local outrage mounted.
Instead, they press ahead with the backing of the city's politicians. I live less than 30 miles from Ground Zero...and believe me, it's still a raw wound here.

The same government that can prohibit a mosque from being built can keep keep churches and synagogues from being built.

The only way for freedom of speech and worship to work is if it protects those who might disagree with you as well.

I agree completely and I am NOT suggesting the "government" stop this in anyway... I'm saying that it is wrong and the outrage should be overwhelming, yet it is not. There is outrage, just not to any overwhelming amount.....the American people forget quickly and go blindly about their personal life.

There are no religious symbols that stand without offending someone. It could by a Protestant church in Rome, or the Westboro Baptist Church in San Francisco. It neither breaks my leg nor picks my pocket. Being outraged does not violate my rights.

The proposed mosque is 2 blocks away from the attack site. How far away would it need to be acceptable? How far away from Columbine High School should gun owners live to avoid protest?

While we're at it, should military chaplains cease Islamic services at the Pentagon? Shall we picket all the mosques in Killeen?
