there are lots of herbs and fruits and things that are good for you, and drinking them in a 'tea' form certainly isnt bad, but if you really want benifits, drink real tea. 'herbal tea' (more accuratly called tisane) by definition contains no tea. and of all the things u can have in such a form, actual tea leaves is probably one of the best for you.
I highly suggest drinking green (or black or white or...). You can get tons of them which also have other good things in them as well if you want.
I would be happy to give you some tips as to where good high quality tea can be found online.

I have a Korean friend who drinks onion tea. She just peels the dried yellow skin off the onion and then brews it. It is very tasty. She says it is good for you but hasn't told me the actual benefits.

No teas from China. A good Darjeeling is hard to pass up, though.

I've never gotten any good effect from any "alternative health" item I've ever tried, be it kava kava, st. john's wort, melatonin, HTP-5, or anything else. I've pretty much given up on them.

My opinion - we have the FDA for a reason: evidence-based medicine separates fact from wishful thinking, useful medicines from hidden poisons. If it isn't double-blind tested, I'm not likely to assume anything beneficial from it except possibly a placebo effect.

Don't know about it's value as a medicine, but I hate to start my day without a big, hot, Rooibos brew.

Was in China for awhile working, and since I love tea.... I was learning about them, etc.

Green tea = for stomach problems
Black tea = for sore throat and sinuses, allergies.

and the list goes on..... I tried them, and they seemed to all work. Pharmacies there are "open", in other words you can buy antibiotics to viagra without any prescription, etc. There is an 'advisor' there to help you pick the right medicine for your problem. The other 1/2 of the Pharmacies are their natural remedies, from teas, herbs, and sea cucumbers (for high cholsterol and BP). They have some they say work as aphrodesiacs.
