    Gooooooooooooooooooolllllllll!!!!!

Whew, what a friggen game! Go, USA!
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

Serious nail biter. With the England game going on concurrently (and England winning for basically the whole game), there couldn't have been a higher-pressure situation.

Anyone who says soccer is boring after that game has flat affect disorder...

We actually won our Group, despite being absolutely and utterly robbed of two goals (one of which would have meant a victory, the second was made slightly less horrible by the fact that we won anyway).

In truth, the two best teams (England and the US) advanced, so justice was done despite the best efforts of the refs (and the English goalkeeper!)

And I think we're doing pretty good in the 4 square competition also.

Go USA! By winning our pool we avoid Germany in the next match and play Ghana instead. That's a very winnable match for the US. Whoo hoo!!!

I was actually upset that I left Camp Bastion/Leatherneck a day before the England/USA game, those Brits were awfully excited about it. Had to miss the game this morning too unfortunately, but I'm glad they pulled it out.
