    Question Need location identified please

I have been very sick for the past two days. In one of my 12 hour sleeping sessions I had a dream that I was out West hunting with my dad. I know I have seen this location on television before but I cannot think of where it is. The mountains were wavy top to bottom and you could see layers of colors that formed the mountains. There were other rock formations that resembled stalagmites jutting out of the ground. Part of the painted desert?

Southern Utah? Maybe around Cameo Cliffs...google it. The stalagmites sound like the "Hoodoos" found at either Goblin Valley or maybe even Bryce Canyon. Lots of round top mountains and hoodoos in those areas.

This one reminds me of a true story. An Aussie I know ran an employment service in which he assisted foreigners with acquisition of a job and papers to work in OZ.

He would take care of the new arrivals as well, helping them get a place to stay, transportation, and so forth.

One day he got a frantic cell call from one of his charges:

    "Where am I?"

My advice, feel better and take a vacation! Go and expore till you find it. The mountains sound like Death Valley, but the features that are like stalagmites sound like Utah... I'd start down south and follow the Rockies north 'till Canada, turn around and go all the way back down. God's country!

I think I remember seeing something like that on an old STAR TREK episode.

I'll try to dream the same thing tonight and look for a road sign or something.

Cooperknight and snowman23, my dream was probably a combination of locations. I used to watch a lot of offroading shows and some were located in Utah. The place in my dream resembled the painted desert and goblin valley. Thank you all for the replies. I laughed at the road sign one.

After viewing the photos in your link Ghuqu2, it was definitely the badlands. Thank you.
