    This is a photo of a tornado that dropped down near Mulvane, KS and was to appear in an issue of Smithsonian. The photo is by Eric Nguyen.

    That\'s a really cool picture, but it\'s scarry as hell. I have never actually seen a tornado except on some of those Weather Channel specials. I just can\'t imagine having your your house swept away in seconds.

    Nice photo, growing up in Oklahoma I have seen my fare share of tornados. I have total respect for their beauty and awesome power..

    What Caliber?

    Would be most effective for protection against a tornado?

    Here\'s something that may surprise you. Do you know where one of the largest and most destructive tornados, and the tornado used as the model for the movie Twister? Would you think Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas?

    Nope, the Scottsdale/Fountain Hills area of Arizona. Sorta makes ya want to watch the sky during monsoon, no?
