Another zombie thread
tooldawg's thread prompted this one. I didn't want to derail his most excellent idea:
Just for grins: Pick (3) weapons for the end of the world...
How 'bout a little different spin?
In tooldawg's thread; you can have any gun you want, money & ammo are not a problem...
But, in this thread...
The zombie apocalypse is happening RIGHT NOW You've got to defend yourself using your current arms and ammo supply,
So, take inventory, you can only pick 3 guns, which are you going to pick, and what's your ammo cache like?
I'm going with
1911 got tons of .45 ACP
10/22 got tons of .22lr
.30-30 gotta go with this, cause I've got more ammo for it than the '06

1911
Remington 1100, 12 Gauge
30-30 Model 94
Additionally, throw the double gun case in the car and find ammo later, the case contains a sporterized and accurized Mauser 98 in 8mm Mauser (7.92x57mm Mauser) and a sporterized and accurized Mannlicher 95 chambered in .30-06 which I only have 20 rounds for. Scopes on both, and zeroed to their optimum ranges.

If we must go RIGHT NOW, it would have to be my DPMS AR15 and Glock 30. That is what I have the most ammo for right now. Plenty of Boat tail HPs and FMJs for the AR. Plenty of loaded mags as well. I have some HPs for the G30, but a lot of target ammo.
I also would grab my Remington 870, I have a good bit of Federal Tactical Loads on tap.

It is better to have your gun and not need it, than to need it and not have it!
Still can't believe what happened on 11/06/12! Disgusted and disappointed!

As a side note, against Z's you'll want hardball and aim for the head, over-penetration is a plus in this case.

Probably not in Maine, zombies aren't fond of cold and maple syrup. But you never know now do you?

With .30 cal in a rifle, I suspect that soft points will also suffice.

You read my mind Zacii
I would go with my CX4 Storm in .45 ,my Glock g26 and my Mossberg 500.

FNP 45 and FNX 40 left and right hip. The 40 has interchangeable barrels for 9mm, so that gives me twice as much ammo for that pistol. I am ambidextrous, so I can shoot as well with either hand. I should probably practice shooting two handed for the zombie apocalypse though... at least that's the way they do it in the movies.
Unfortunately, I do not have a shotgun right now. So the only long gun choice is the Enfield .303. Pretty accurate, and pretty quick for a bolt action, but I don't have much ammo for it.
Both the shotgun and the .303 ammo are problems that will be rectified soon.
