    New neighbor

I was out walking my dogs along the fence line when i saw this deer run by as quickly as possible, my dogs go running after it when I heard crashes behind me. I thought cool another deer, so I got my camera phone ready to take a picture of the next deer, but low and behold out popped a little black bear.
It stopped and looked over at me, I looked at it in the eyes. It raised its head at me was about to come over to walk over to me when my dogs came back and at first they quickly stopped and looked at the bear for a moment, then started barking and bitting at the fence with vengence, trying so desperatly hard at tearing thru the fence to get to the bear, the bear just stood there without a care in the world, it let out a weak 3 second growl, then slowly walked away while my dogs tried and tried so hard to tear down the fence to get at the bear. But I have the one picture for proof.

Now I will need to carry on my own property at night so I don't get malled by this bear.

Cool, fitz. I wouldn't worry too much about a little ol' black bear. But it's when the little one's in front of you and momma is behind you that gets worrisome.

Deer AND bear, nice. Since the developers raped the land behind me I'm down to rabbits and squirrels.

That's a nice piece of land. I could fit my house perfectly right behind that little bear!

We have them too, not really a problem, the coyotes are the problem around here.

Yep I live North of you and have the same problems, always look out the window before going to work, once got trapped in my house by some cubs, made for an interesting call to the boss as to way I would be late. I have been known to take my 45 + ammo with me to my garage at night (for a cleaning of course, perfectly legal)

There was a thread a few days ago about a cat that could take care of that bear for you. I am computer illiterate enough to not be able to find it now, but the cat had some serious illusions about his ability to take on a bear; luckily the bear believed him!

yeah i actually saw that on the news, pretty funny stuff, haha

this bear though wasn't even afraid of 2 german short hair pointers full grown, and one german shepard almost full grown barking and biting at our fence like a crazy, but if this cat could do it, i would never look at my dogs the same way again.

I have a blind Siamese that isn't afraid of anything; of course, he can't see it, but he has backed down neighborhood cats and not known it!
