Convenience store clerk saw my CFP tonight when he asked for my ID.
I went and watched the fireworks with a friend tonight. Didn't have to go far but I only took my DL/CFP and my debit card with me. I was not armed because I had a few beers.
My DL and CFP reside in the same pouch and my friend stated he wanted to stop by the store to pick up a beer. He doesn't have a lot of money so I said my treat. Get what you want.
So when I was going to pay the clerk asked for my ID. They ID anyone regardless of age and not thinking about my CFP I handed him the pouch. Now my DL sits at the bottom and he could have quickly glanced down to see my DOB but he stood there for a good 10 seconds looking at my CFP and then said. There is the DOB.
He seemed amazed to see it. I felt like an idiot for showing it but that is what happens when you have a few beers in you.

I'm sure at that job he gets handed all kinds of crazy stuff.

It wasn't a big issue. This is a store I go into often. It was just a brain fart on my part as I truly don't desire to show anyone my CFP.

Everybody has them.
If he starts winking at you during an armed robbery, then I would get concerned.

I wouldn't sweat it, stuff happens.
My wife and I stopped at a similar store. I didn't have my pistol with me when I went in to purchase a bottle of wine. This store has the WV winery brand we like. As the clerk was ringing up the order, she asked for DL. I showed it to her and she asked me "what do you carry?"
Kind of surprised me and I said "what?" She told me she thought she saw my carry permit inside my wallet and that she has one too. We chatted about guns and permits for a bit before I paid and went on my way.
It can be a positive experience sometimes.
