BTW for those not hip to Aikido I was having a discussion about martial arts with my 7 yr. old daughter yesterday as she requested to see some video of girls doing different martial art styles.
I showed her this video in specific which is an interview of Sensei Penny Bernath (US).
YouTube - Penny Bernath Sensei - from "Holding Up Half the Sky - Women Aikido Instructors in America"
Take note of her commentary about how much effort and time is involved toward getting to her stage of 6th dan.
Again Aikido is no joke even as it looks to be soft and flowery, do not sleep on such a practitioner.
YouTube - Aikido vs Karate
"Shigeo Tsujitani(karate) vs Tetsu Yamazaki(Aikido) in Bujinhai'95. Bujinhai is Japanese open tournament of MMA. Yamazaki fought bravely though he has only one arm."
Aikido (Yamazaki...Who has just one arm and wearing a full aikiido gi!) Vs. MMA Real Fight Part 1 & 2
There is difficult, there is hard and then there is steel.
I've been working softly on my daughter since age 4 to get her interested in doing a martial art.
She's not quite there yet toward thinking to make it her own decision, but yesterday out of the blue she inquired about it for the first time in months and afterward we talked about things and she said she might entertain trying after she turns eight (December).
I am hoping for Aikido, though I would be fine with anything she chooses....As long as she chooses something.
Chuck Norris can kill Stephen Segal just by giving him the finger !!!!
Zoe: "Preacher, don't the Bible have some pretty specific things to say about killing?
Book: "Quite specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps."
Steven Seagal is a real life 7th Dan Black belt in Aikido, i think he is alot faster then Chick Norris.
Also Steven is hell of a crack shot with the 1911 he can split a ace of spade in half on the thin side!

I don't think that most people realize the extent of Segal's music background. In addition to doing charity performances he co-wrote and performed the Regge song "John Crow" with Jimmy Cliff for the club scene in, "Marked For Death".
Seagal get's his custom 1911s from Jerry Tussey. I saw a magazine article on him in GUNS a long time ago. Said his favorite technique is to "chase the hole" rather than keep a single sight picture COM.

Now? No contest: Chuck! He may be old, but he's still in great physical shape. Stevie is fat, bloated and always looks constipated.
In their primes? Wow - I'd have to go with Stevie.
Don't forget the classic INVASION USA!!!

Superman wears Chuck Norris underoos. Nuff said.
Chuck Norris counted to infinity....twice.
"To my mind it is wholly irresponsible to go into the world incapable of preventing violence, injury, crime, and death. How feeble is the mindset to accept defenselessness. How unnatural. How cheap. How cowardly. How pathetic." Ted Nugent
