I'd have to lean Chuck Norris. As I understand, Segal is a real life LEO? According to Chuck Norris - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Norris is a real life fighter too, not just an actor.

    Guardian,

Seagal did his first hollywood anything in 1988 with 'Above the Law'.
    Source - Steven Seagal

He started training in karate in 1959, twenty nine years prior to release of his first film which went into production in 1987.

Seagal first began studying Shito-ryu karate under Fumio Demura and aikido under Rod Kobayashi around the age of seven after a demonstration by aikido founder Morihei Ueshiba sparked his interest in 1959.

After many years of training at the age of 17, Seagal traveled to Japan and stayed in Asia for approximately 15 years while teaching English. In 1974, he was promoted to Kobayashi-sensei to shodan in Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido and is considered to be the first foreigner to operate a dojo in Japan. He also owns belts in aikido, karate, kendo, and judo.
    Back to America:
Seagal opened a dojo in Taos, New Mexico with student Craig Dunn upon his return to the states. After some work trying to get his foot in the door in Hollywood and another trip to Japan, he once again returned to the United States in 1983 with student Haruo Matsuoka. The two opened an aikido dojo in Burbank, California and later moved it to West Hollywood.

    ...

    Interesting Steven Seagal Facts:

    * Unlike martial arts movie actors Chuck Norris, Bruce Lee, Jet Li, and Jean-Claude Van Damme, Seagal's preferred style of martial arts does not subscribe to flowing kicks and lots of offense. Rather, aikido is a defensive martial arts style that focuses on throws and joint locks in defense against attacks. In this sense, he's unique among the martial arts movie actor brotherhood.

Katana I'd mentioned that earlier but just didn't go into detail.
Seagal is also practiced real world in karate, escrima, and 'klik pao' aka gun-fu....As well as being a master sensei of aikido.
Not at all an average martial artist, who has done movies.

Again I'd pay money to see Seagal fight Norris, if not just to end the question of who would kick whoms butt.

As an undercard could be a Stallone vs. JCVD fight as the two famously nearly mixed it up in Stallones back yard during a major party he was having in the 90s.
In fact JCVD's own bodyguard Chuck Zito, who also is another martial artist 'actor' not to mess with, is on record as having knocked out cold JCVD at a bar with a single punch.

That's in the first "Breakin'" movie. Didn't noticed that until years later. He was just an extra in that role. Make believe it was the "White Warrior" kickboxer character in LA before he went to Thailand (LOL).

    ^^

I was waiting for someone to mention him and that line [first].
    A very entertaining movie.
Karate flicks are soo much fun.

Now for a really tough question; Who wins Christopher Reeves 'Superman' or Bill Bixby 'Incredible Hulk'?
    Unstoppable force vs. Immovable object.

I thought we were talking about martial arts skills...as actors, they BOTH suck..big time. As far as fighters? I still put my money on the one who does'nt brag about himself all the time..Chuck Norris
After looking at the above post ( Dragonfly Jones ) I may have to rethink this
