A trip to walmart for ammo
I went to walmart the other day to buy some ammo for one of our guns. When I got back to the sporting goods counter I was looking at the ammo the guy looked at me and smiled and said we have plenty of 380 that is what most women want. I looked at him smiled back and said well I want the 357.
. He looked a little shocked. I thought it was funny.

The sad thing is that the guy probably thought you were buying for your husband.

When my mom bought her Colt .38 Special the guy at the gun store told her it would be a good gun for her husband (this was back in the 1970's btw).....she just smiled, then laughed the whole way home.
I was at a pawn shop looking at an XD40 and another customer told me that was too big of a gun for me. He even went out of his way to say it twice! I just ignored him, spoke to the man at the counter, handled the gun a bit, and the stranger suddenly found something else to look at.
Last time I bought 9mm ammo at WalMart the guy behind the counter was intent on selling me .22's for some reason....

Hey PL, I thought your S&W 60 was .38spl only. What do you have in .357?

My favorite Wal-Mart experience is when I asked the "sporting goods" guy if they had AR-15 magazines and he told me to go look in the book section...
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

Pinklady, you should have followed up with something about your .44 magnum being at the gunsmith's shop right now.

That is not quite as sad as the day I asked the girl working the fish counter at a grocery store for lox, and she pointed me at the housewares/hardware aisle...

We have a GP 100, which I love to shoot. But actually I was getting the .357 ammo for the Marlin 1894 css which I bought my husband for his birthday. I wanted to get the ammo so we could go try it out.

A friend of mine has a model 60 that is definitely chambered for .357. It's not quite like the older 60's, having a full lug and heavier barrel similar to the 640.

My 60LS is a .357 (though I only shoot .38spl with it at the moment - .357 is too much recoil for me out of a 2" barrel).
