Done with summer
I want it to be fall. I'm tired of sweating and having my vest cling to me all day. I'm tired of getting into a roasting car after a long hot shift. I'm tired of mowing green weeds and brown grass. I tired of my dogs not wanting to be outside, and my bird dog jumping up and running to the door when he hears fireworks, only to be disappointed that there are no birds and he will not be leaving the yard.
I'm tired of having to get my Jeep muddy if I want to use the 4x4. Snow is much cleaner and more fun to drive in.
I'm also tired of hearing about kids drowning in pools when they should have been supervised. I'm tired of anywhere between 3 to 5 shootings a night and the natives being restless.
There, just needed to rant a little bit.

Feel better now? Sometimes going on a "rant" is good for the soul.

I don't know how you LEO's deal with it all, but I'm very glad that you do.
Oh yeah - I'm about done with the heat too. My electric bill was $535 last month.

Not missing the snow up here. Too long and cold most winters .

At least you aren't in Hawaii, where it is perpetually 85 and humid. I actually hate the constant weather here.
I haven't gotten to see SW Ohio in full fall glory for several years now, I miss it, its one of the best times of year there.
Just think of the good stuff you can do with your kids, take them to the pool, to kings island, to the zoo, ect...
One nice thing about Ohio, is usually just about the time you start really getting tired of a season, the winds start to blow and its a new one.
EDIT: Either go to Graeters and get some double chocolate chip, or the root beer stand, and enjoy a little bit of summer.

Your welcome to come visit/ We just got started on summer a month ago. We had snow through MAY! and it was 45degrees in June. I'm digging the summer..don't wish it away...just bring your family to the mountains for a little R&R and some friendly range time. I'm sure any of the mountain folks here would agree and extend you the same invite. Now go get a slurpy.

I'm the opposite. I waited so long for summer to get here, now the days are getting shorter, and it's back into the cold.
When it's hot, it's cold beer and barbecue time.
We get all of our mud in the winter, no fun for me.

You know.. I kind of wish it were fall too. But just because that's my favorite time of the year.

Fall is my favorite as well. I love it when the air gets that crisp feel to it. The dogs love working and its almost time to hit the bird fields. Breaking out the shotguns like they are some sort of time capsule is awesome too. ( I know, I know.. I need to shoot more clays in the summer) The cars and motorcycle seem to love the cooler air too. Riding a dual sport adventure ride in the fall forests is an unforgettable experience as well.

+1 By far the best time of the year! Not too hot, not too cold. Just right.

I can sympathize. I was just driving home from radio shack with my oldest and we got one of those wonderful "scattered thunderstorms." The truck was so hot, and the rain was so cold that one of the windows in the back of my suburban popped. I am definitely ready for October.

I love the heat.
Alaska and Upper Michigan have two seasons...winter and tough sledding, I'll stick to FL, where I can enjoy the heat in the summer and the warmth in the winter.

Understandable. Since my shop fire I've negotiated with the alarm service to expand our fire protection throughout our home. I'm going to rough-in all the hard wiring they need, they called yesterday saying they'll be here tomorrow to finish their part. I'm 57, Louisiana summer, AND JUST SPENT MOST OF THE DAY IN MY ATTIC
