Thanks to everyone who gave me advice on Maryland. It does irritate me that CC in MD will be difficult, if possible at all, but the bottom line is providing for me and my wife.
We ARE excited to be near the coast again, AND employed.
Now I just have to figure out how to afford to get there, as we are B-R-O-K-E again from BEING unemployed, and no relocation is provided.
Fingers crossed I get it done.

Good luck getting there and being there! I'm sure there are worse places than Maryland. Is it possible to live in Virginia and commute?

Thanks all, and yes Joker, I believe it is. It depends on how far I want to commute, and a few other factors. Once I know the lay of the land, I'll be able to tell what my options are long term.

I hope it all works out for the best but I do not envy you. Baltimore has some very nice areas but as you already know your ability to CC is not going to happen anytime soon. I grew up in Maryland and while I miss family and friends I do not miss Maryland at all. Well I do miss Ocean City and Thrashers french fries but that is about it. I hope the best for you and your family.

I feel the same about Upstate NY. I think and hope I'll enjoy it ok. If nothing else, I'm employed, and near the shore.

That will be one hellava commute...I live in Northern VA and when I have to get to Baltimore, I give it 75 minutes...an accident on I-95 and you're in the 90 -120 minute range...
Congrats on the job...and yea, Maryland is tough for CCing...
Where in Baltimore is your job (in relationship to downtown)???

Actually PA might be closer. I-83 runs right into B-more... it could be a viable option. I left Maryland years ago, and never looked back.

Great. Now the unemployment rate drops, the banks raise interest rates, WALL Street robs more accounts, more homes fall to forclosure, Obama thinks the economy's turned around and stops spending billions of money we don't have. It anarchy, I tell you! And all because you got a job.
Hope it all works out for you. Now get to Balt.

Depending on where in Balmer your job is...this may be a more viable option than Northern Virginia...
