Football Thug Knocked out by MMA Fighter (Video)

So this thug of a former football player (UT - Austin) walked up and hit a female from behind, and there just happened to be an MMA fighter handy who beat the crap out of him.

Street justice. Some people can sit around and watch something like that and not do anything about it. Some people can't.

Way to go Roger Huerta. Looked like Karo Parisyan that was trying to stop him. Huerta Vs. Guida has to be one of the top 10 fights ever.

    Two thoughts, real quick:

    1. Don't be hanging around places like that.

    2. The takedown is a very good move. On pavement, a hard fall can be a game-ender.

The BG in this engagement is big and strong. It all worked against him when his head hit the ground.

I read about this a few weeks ago and there are so many different sides to the story it is not funny. Roger Huerta could be charged, I doubt it will happen but he could be. He was no involved in the original fight but injected himself into the situation. He could have walked away from the guy but he did not. He instead took it to the next level but he claims he only did after the guy threw a punch at him first but when you remove your shirt way before a punch is thrown you are showing that you are ready for a fight.

I don't see how much of anything was determined from that lousy video. I saw not one punch thrown other than the one that took down the girl in the beginning of the video. After that it was pure chaos and shaky video.
I am consistently on record and will continue to be on record as opposing concealed carry.

    +2. Lucky nobody got shot.

That's the truth. I'm glad the MMA fighter did the right thing.

From everything I know about him Huerta is a good guy. The grand majority of the pro fighters know better than to start something outside of the ring. I give him the benefit of the doubt he was out of it till the thug hit the girl. I agree Huerta vs Guida is def. top ten in UFC history.

O.K., here's the scenario...I'm surprised that no one has posted it yet.
You're in the middle of this 'cluster' and you are armed. Forty members of the violent crowd surround you, and you only have one mag (6 rounds + 1 in the chamber...hey, it's a Glock-36). They are all chanting, "Let's take his gun!"...
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Back to reality...why in the heck would anyone go near this 'looking for trouble convention'?
When/If I see a crowd like this brewing, I'm outta' there.

One gun in that crowd could have ruined a few futures.

C'mon, retsupt - you're streetwise. You've seen the situation you're describing on videos all the time, with this particular demographic. Any time there is a large congregation of young people on the street, behaving badly, and a shot rings out, everybody runs as fast as they can. Nobody wants to remake the move Zulu.

They don't coordinate an attack and figure that while some will die, eventually they'll get to you.

Maybe there's too much talk on gun boards about caliber and effectiveness, so that people get hung up on the idea that maybe 5 rounds of .357 isn't enough, that maybe 30+ with spare magazines isn't enough. That maybe a BUG and a third gun are necessary. And yet, in the scenario you posit, a single shot fired in the air would scatter the entire crowd. It turns out that people do have a strong aversion to being shot, and street trash like those in the linked video will go to great lengths to avoid having bullets enter their bodies.

What's more, nobody would care a whit if you had a .45 or a .22, and nobody would care how many shots you had onboard. A generic Glock bang-bang box or a Ruger MKIII would be equally effective.
