I hear that you can go downtown and watch all the muggings...any street, any time of the day will work.

There is not a reason in the world that I would go to Chicago.

I used to have to travel to Chicago all the time. My office was downtown in the Financial near the Board of Trade. It's actually a good walking city, but there are areas to avoid just like any other city. I might suggest the Magnificent Mile, or heading out to Navy Pier.

I always felt naked without at least a snubbie in my pocket, but Mayor Idiot up there doesn't like the peasants armed.

I'll second a trip to the Museum of Science and Industry, the full size U-boat they have is pretty impressive and of course Navy Pier. Also don't forget Pizzeria Uno (make sure it's the original one on Ohio St), mmmmm, piiiiii-zaaaa! If you like jazz, and a good cigar (if they still allow smoking), check out the Green Mill, supposedly a hang out of Al Capones, great music and even better atmosphere.

Be sure to take your vest, they average 10-12 shootings a day.

Chicago in the rear view mirror.

95% of the crime in Chicago takes place in the undesirable neighborhoods surrounding the city. Downtown is very nice and I've never felt unsafe there.

It's a shame that you would let your ignorance and paranoia prevent you from experiencing one of the coolest cities in the country.

Been to Chicago...lived 60 miles west...hated every single time I went.....no redeeming qualities, IMO. Great skyline...that's about it.

I've heard about the Uboat, sounds cool. Bears are away, or I would get my 1st NFL game on the company credit card. I gotta get one of the H-D of Chicago shirts, with "Chicago" hammered out with a Tommy gun.

Five small town Kansas car salesmen in the Windy City, what could go wrong?
