    Favorite Beer?

We've had recent threads on cigars and whiskey. In honor of the upcoming Oktoberfest, what is your favorite beer?

Since it is in anticipation of Oktoberfest, I'll start with German beers: Warsteiner (common) or Helles Schlenkerla Lagerbier (not so common).

English/UK: Newcastle Brown Ale and Guiness Stout

USA (not counting the hundreds of fantastic microbrews): Shiner Bohemian Black Lager, Fat Tire, Sam Adams Noble Pils

Oktoberfest word of the day: Bierdimpfe: Notorious beer drinker, or "tavern potato."

    Prosit!!!!

Karl Strauss ale. (sp?) I also like Sam Adams (the original).

I'm a simple man when it comes to beer. Give me a Coors light and I'm happy. If I want to have a sipping beer with some friends I will have a George Killian's Irish Red but that is about as heavy as I will go. I do not like dark or heavy beers. I also like my beer cold, not warm.

Yes, call my Coors light whatever you desire but not everyone shares the same taste.

    Fiji Bitter.

Got hooked on it there, and used to be able to get it here.

I probably only drink about 8 to 12 beers per year, so I tend to like the flavor of imported or regional types. Usually heavy dark beers that more resemble a snack then a beverage. Served ice cold in a frozen mug.

Recently all I have been drinking is the home brew from my basement. I have a batch of Dopplebock ready, Porter bottled and carbonating and Raspberry wiess started on Wednesday in the fermenter.

I have recently been on a cheap American beer kick. I now have Pabst Blue Ribbon in the fridge. Last week it was Schlitz, and before that Miller High Life. What I really want, but cant find locally is Genesee Beer or Genesee Cream Ale. Those are good football watching, burger and dog eating beers.
If I am eating in a good German place I prefer Shlosser Alt.
