    Kel Tec Commercial

Were any of you as surprised as I was when toward the end of last night's Hawaii Five-O episode (9/27), the guys presented Kona (Grace Park's character) with a kel tec pf9 to be her BUG?
They gave it to her in a nice little case, identified it by name, and the camera gave us a good, long, close-up look at the gun.
I don't think I've seen anything like that done on a TV program of this sort.
Do you think Kel Tec paid them to use their product in this way?
(Personally, I doubt it since the model wasn't the much nicer looking hard chrome version of the pf9.)
    Thoughts?

Companies pay big bucks to get products used on shows, while not an ad as usual it was a good way for Kel-Tec to show off a product in a way that may not offend anti-gunners. Could you just imagine the wailing and gnashing of teeth from the brady bunch and vpc had Kel-Tec bought a 30 second ad instead?

Well that show seems very savvy about guns and tac gear. They had some very nice stuff. McGarretts's Sig had some actual battle wear in close up shots to show it had actually been used in combat. Sounds like they have some good technical advisors.

I came across comments elsewhere on the internet that kel tec had made this appearance of a pf9 happen.
Still not convince since they didn't use the better-looking HC model.

Talk about product placement. I bet Chevy paid a bunch for all of those close ups.
