Took my sister to the range today

    and she had a blast!

She's a convert, absolutely loves my XD!! While I thoroughly enjoyed shooting my mom's Colt .38 Special.

The only other handgun she had shot before was a .22, and I've not been shooting pistols very long myself, so we didn't make any pretty targets, but we were definitely improving by the time we ran out of ammo. We were the only girls at the range today. In my family, it's all the girls that have CC permits and guns. lol

We shot 200 rounds of the 9mm and 50 of the .38

I snapped a pic of her with my phone right as she ran out, oh well. We had a blast!

My other sister (who also has an XD9sc) wanted to go with us, but she had prior plans, so we'll probably go again in a couple of weeks

Who knows, we might even take mom with us next time! She's been shooting since college so she'll probably beat us all out, but I bet it'll be fun

Great job, nice gun, and an attractive young lady. Keep shootin'!

Very nice. Families should shoot together.

Fun day, looks like a nice range.

Please tell me she had eye protection on and I just don't see it.

She did, she has a pair of those yellow shooting glasses, but on the last shooting round I noticed towards the end that she had forgot to put them back on, and I spoke to her about it when we were walking out. She said she could tell the difference, and actually better understood why she needed them.

My mom gave her her own ear protectors and glasses and a box of bullets on her birthday in August, but like I said it was really her first time out. I think she got distracted reloading the mags coz she was just getting the hang of it there towards the end. There's always room for improvement. She did really well with gun handling safety

Cool thread. Leaves a little warm spot. Keeping the family involved, especially in shooting sports, is always a good thing.

+1 Two of my favorite things!

Enjoy the range time - you get to become more familiar with different handguns and you get to bond and share with your family - PRICELESS!
