    Kentucky

My wife and I live in Florida. I'm originally from NY - lived there for the 1st 40 yrs of my life, and I've been in FL for the past 10 yrs.
I love FL, and dislike NY for many reasons, among which are the anti 2a mindset in NY (and love the pro 2a in FL).

We spent the weekend in Lexington KY for my niece's wedding.
We were both really taken with the beauty of the KY countryside. We took some drives through the rural areas outside of Lexington, and I cannot do justice to it's beauty with words.
Anyway, now I can't get the idea of relocating to KY out of my head.

I've seen many parts of our great country, but KY is a real gem.

Make sure you get full value out of today , Do something worthwhile, because what you do today will cost you one day off the rest of your life .

    Why, thank you Steve.

I have always said that God may have blessed Texas, but if he made anyplace prettier than Ky, he kept it for himself. :)

I live about 30 minutes from Lexington in a smallish town.
If you don't have to be 10 minutes from downtown Lexington, property values are still reasonable in most areas. The further out in the sticks you go, the more reasonable it gets.

Ky, has similar laws to florida regarding CCW. We even have a sorta defacto castle doctrine, even if it isn't exactly law.

My job takes me all over the central and western parts of the state so I have seen most of the state at one time or another.

If you are even half serious about coming up here, let me extend you a warm country welcome and feel free to ask about any of the areas you might consider. Heck, the next time you are in the area, give me a heads up, and I'll give you the lowdown on the best places to eat/etc.

I've always been mystified by KY. Is the grass there really blue or are those people on drugs? And what's a KY blue blood? Overdose maybe? Just kidding. Never been there but I bet it would be a great place to visit. Think I'll go visit KY on the net and check it out.

Is the grass blue? Well... that depends on how many alcoholic beverages you consumed that day I suppose...

Seriously, the grass is not blue. It is a different shade of green though.

Travelled thru KY en route from here, thru WV, and on finally to TX via TN and AR. Much to like about it and in fact I'd be hard pressed to really decide whether I have all I want re scenery here, in WV or KY - all have their attractions.

Sure would like to spend more time there.

I've been on 4 different continents at this point and there's no where else on Earth I'd rather live. The only place that possibly comes close to topping Kentucky are The Smokies and that's questionable.

Great people (maybe not so much Northern KY, they are pseudo Ohioans. :p), great land, and great gunlaws. :)

Kentucky bluebloods are UK basketball fans. The winningest college basketball team in history has it's share of very zealous followers.

Kentucky, home of fast women and beautiful horses.

I am a displaced person, now living in the Bluegrass State. The worst part of living here after being reared in the West is the lack of pheasant hunting and almost no native trout streams.

    +1

Born and raised for 8 short years in Lexington...transplanted around to MI and OH due to dad's 'vocation' in ministry. Beautiful country!

    KY=promised land.
It's not about the caliber you carry, it's about how you USE it.

I try not to (don't really like basketball), but I work at UK. I have no chance!
