Motorola Quantico, supposed to be waterproof and shockproof. I do like the fact is has actual METAL hinges in it, seems very rugged, but it's not fancy.
My wife and daughter have "smart phones". They are built so flimsy, they'd last me about 2 weeks before I crunched the thing. I understand though, that my envrironment and being outdoors alot, may not be the case for everyone here. For me, I needed something that was tough and dumb instead of flimsy and smart!

a 2-yr old LG Voyager through Verizon w/ a (rare) 'new - in 1' contract, which obviously expired a year ago.
Thinking of going backwards and 'downgrading' to a Trac-Phone so that I can reduce my $ 60/mo cell phone bill.

iPhone 4 here. Wife and I each have one plus carry iPads, so all our software syncs up. I have 50,000 songs in iTunes, so apple sync with iTunes is essential to us. we also use the Remote app to control our sound ssystem wirelessly. I admit it, I am a gadet freak...

Since I only use a cell phone for coordinating plans w/the family, I have a cheapo pre-paid LG something with Verizon. Switched over from a cheapo pre-paid somthing with Virgin Mobile at the beginning of the year. Switched from Vi-Mo to Verizon for better coverage back in Idy-hoe.
Been running cheapo pre-paid phones now for a few years, I can't imagine I've paid more than 12-15 bucks a month, if I were to total and average the minutes and phones I've paid for. 60-100 bucks a month would make my head spin and my back ache.

The droids & such are too dang big. Fine if you carry a purse, but they take up too much real estate in my pocket (LCP is already occupying one of those anyway).

Get a phone pouch/carrier. I use one at work , just left of my belt buckle. When I'm off, my Droidx fits easily into a pocket, I always wear cargo jeans or cargo shorts. I want to invest in one of those full-body cases, their about 40$ but they take ALOT of the shock out of dropping it, and help with water resistance, and also clip to your belt. (Unfortunately mine has several nicks by the screen from dropping it. One good thing about Verizons optional warrenty thingy vs T-Mobiles, is verizons warrenty covers physical/water damage.)

My HTC Incredible is quite a bit smaller than the Droid. I'm very happy with it, and when packaged with 3 other people on a family plan, I pay 62/month. That's for FULL data, unlimited text, and more minutes than we all use. I don't have a land line, so I'm quite happy with what I pay.

I have one of the Sprint/Nextel rugged phones. I work in a fabrication shop and it has to be able to take a beating - and it does!

T-Mobile Sidekick. Unlimited Internet, emails, and text. No voice calls.
A CCW is like a parachute; if you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again.
