I thought at first it was a policemen who said both members of a shooting were in trouble.What the heck is this you gave me?

It's from a satirical newspaper (with a generally left political bias), I believe it is supposed to be commentary on the folks that leave their guns unattended in places with access to their youngsters. Taken from the position of a mother whose children aren't cleaning up their toys.

Be careful, and only let the important things weigh on your mind. The frivolous things will only weigh you down to the point you can't decide. Most of what you hear is designed to weaken you in your thoughts. How much priority you give to what you hear will either make you grow, or be your downfall.
