    Anyone live in North Vegas?

I need candid details about what it's like to live and work in North Vegas...or to commute from N. Vegas to work in the area of the strip.....working in the security industry for casinos/hotels etc.

    Considering a move.

I love in the northwest section of Las Vegas, not North Las Vegas. But, the biggest problem working in Las Vegas is that we have a 15% unemployment rate right now. If you have a definite job offer, no problem. I enjoy living here (when I have a job). No state income tax. Getting to work on the strip from NLV isn't a big deal. Heavy traffic on I15 during the typical rush hour so it may take you longer, or you may try an alternate route. Housing prices had gone through the roof, but now they've dropped back down to reasonable. Weather isn't too bad. Summers are hot, but I spend little time out of air conditioning. Winter's not bad. Temperatures aren't too cold, and snow happens, but usually doesn't accumulate. I've seen snow accumulate once in the past 25 years. Entertainment is all around, and a lot of great restaurants. So, it's a pretty good place to live. Gun laws are reasonable, and CCWs aren't hard to get. Pass the class (EASY), send in the forms, and as long as you aren't a criminal, you'll get it. Metro in the past has taken 4 months to process CCWs, but last I heard, it had gotten better.
