In case you haven't heard, there is a re-make of True Grit being released next month, with Jeff Bridges playing the role of Marshall Cogburn.
Sacrilege. There are some things you just don't do in America, and one of them is reprise a John Wayne role.
It's just not done.

Just because you can do a thing doesn't mean you should. I shudder to think how TG will be made PC. What is it with all the remakes, are they that lacking in new material. I'll save my money and rent the original - again.

I think that Russell Crowe, Viggo Mortensen or even Kevin Costner would've made a better Marshall Cogbrun than Jeff Bridges (terrible casting!).

This will not be Bridges first attempt in the western genre, ala Wild Bill in 1995, which I was not impressed with. I doubt he will improve in TG.
