I missed the credits at the end that said "brought to you by your tax dollars."

Still, it was a nice gesture. I'd advise GM to keep it up.

I wonder when the Ford ad is coming out.

"We actually planned for the future and didn't steal money from taxpayers."

Any Chrysler ads are going to need be translated from Italian first.

They can thank me by bringing some relevant products to the market.

Capitalism works if we are allowed to fail...and not interfere...to rebuild even stronger. Ugh, but it was a touching commercial, nonetheless.

Speaking of fails. Has anyone seen the specs on the new GM electric hybrid? IIRC it is heavier, slower and has less endurance than Nissans new entry into the market (the Leaf?). Yet it costs about 10K more. Does anyone other than me realize why GM is a failing company?

Hopefully they have learned their lesson. A leaner GM is a step in the right direction. One thing I find encouraging is that they are now offering OnStar in every model. I know a number of people that wanted the system when they were shopping years ago, and would have been happy to pay the monthly fee, but could not afford the models it was available in. Now if they can just get stop making excuses and give us another Diesel powered SUV I might be tempted to give up my now seventeen model year old Suburban.

To be fair, it isn't like the Leaf. The Leaf is a pure EV, while the Volt is more of a hybrid. When the Leaf runs out of juice, it's dead. When the Volt runs out of juice, you can keep going on regular gas and fill up at a gas station.

Fair enough, BUT my info is coming from GM employees that are bad mouthing their new car. They say it stinks. I'm inclined to believe them.
