    New Warning Signs for Hikers

    Warning

    There are both black bears and grizzly bears that can be found along these trails. Always carry pepper spray and bells. If a bear is encountered, be sure to make lots of noise to scare it off.

    You can tell if bears are nearby by their scat. Black bears will leave scat that dark and stringy. Grizzly bear scat is similar, but will probably contain pepper spray and bells.

    LOL That line had me rolling! I used to live in your area. I remember seeing a black bear running down the middle of Rt. 216 in LaGrange a few years ago. Pretty cool (since i was safe in my car)
