I've seen too many of this type of person. - the type who refuse to take ANY responsibility, and claim "My darling little snookums would NEVER hurt anyone" while WATCHING it chomp chunks out of someone's leg. Why does it matter whether "its not its fault?" Does that justify allowing a bear to maul your face just because "its not its fault?" No, of course not. That is not a rational argument for evaluating your argument.
I say you did alright. You taught that dog a lesson it will not forget. If it does, it'll at least hesitate next time it comes yelping at you.
