In order to cope with his emotional problems, he learns to talk to a Beaver hand puppet that becomes his cheerleader to turn his life around.

Do you think that making a movie like this might actually be therapeutic for Gibson in his real life, and actually help him get back on an even keel again??
He used to be such a positive force in the motion picture business, before falling into this downward spiral that he has been in.
The movie looks like it might actually be good.

Sure. He's played characters like this before in Lethal Weapon, Conspiracy Theory and Tim. He's a good actor and should do fine with this character. It was probably a smart move on his part to have another big name in the movie to help him carry it.

Maybe the character he portrays and the experience can help him in his personal troubles......

With the impact of the movie "The Passion of Christ" had on people, and then the sudden problems in his life afterwords, it kind of makes me wonder if he wasn't targeted, so to speak. I personally believe deep down inside he's a good man, but we will never know all the details. I wish him well.

Frankly, i do not find it coincidental that his comments/staements/outburst mirror those of his father, a well known racist anti-semite and champion of Holocost denial.

He is a great acting talent. I think he'll make it back. My favorite movie with him in it was Maverick. He just needs to quit drinking...

I really thought the OP was going to end with a "GOTCHA" or something. Isn't that his day to day?
He is a great actor and I will probably see this movie. My favorite is still "The Patriot", it's just SO well made.

Seems his life recently has put him in this role! I hope he gets his life straightened out, I think he's an excellent actor. We are all a little bit like our fathers, some for good, some for bad.
