Yes, I had a great Croton self-winding dive watch. Loved it. Unfortunately I somehow whacked the crystal against a rock while diving and the poor watch drowned. I agree, they are (or were when I had mine and may still be) great watches.
(Added later, that Croton's drowning is one reason I now like el-cheapo watches. They can be found good for 50 meters to 150 meters and if one drowns its no big deal. I have a 12 dollar Casio good for 50 meters which keeps perfect time. I'm too old and out of practice to dive, but I wouldn't hesitate to swim with it. I would hesitate to swim with my more expensive watches.)
There are plent of brand that make self winding watches. Bulova, Seiko, Movado, Officina del Tempo. Just to name a few that I carry in my store. My fav is th OdT.

Wow, yours is beautiful as it is! Yours appear to be a more expensive model than mine, your train is much more detailed and realistic looking.
My Granddad was a railroad detective.
I'll have to look through my records to see if I even have the bill, it was a number of years ago I had it done, but I'll gladly take a look.

Zsnake, sorry amigo, I haven't found a receipt for the engraving. I remember he didn't charge much, but I can't remember the exact amount.

Hey OD,
Thanks for looking.
I've been told to leave it alone (by my jeweler) as the wear actually contributes to the autheticity of the piece.
I carry it most of the time, with a pen on the fob. Great conversation starter and keeps time really well...loses about a minute a day.
You're welcome Sir. I agree with your jeweler, yours is a very, very, nice example.
I only did mine because the locomotive was nearly worn off, if mine had been as nice as yours, I wouldn't have touched it.![]()
