86 yr Old Hunter, Dying from Terminal Cancer, Scores a Big 8 Point Buck! -- PHOTO
86 yr old dairy farmer Lester Warner of Huntingdon County, PA, left the hospital last month in a terribly weakened state. Dying from a late stage cancer that doctors said was terminal, he and his family decided to take him off of chemotherapy, due to its adverse effects.
Once off chemotheraphy, Warner rallied, and gained some strength back. His sons Brian and Scott were at first sceptical when their Dad told them that he would like to go Deer hunting one last time. However, seeing the improvement in him, they decided to help him achieve his dying wish.
So Brian lugged a comfortable recliner chair up the side of a mountain, to a covered deer hunting stand. It was only 19 degrees when the sun rose a week and a half ago on November 29, 2010, with Lester Warner comfortable in his recliner, waiting for a deer to appear. It wasn't long before a huge 8-point buck emerged from the woods, the biggest one that Warner had ever seen in all of his many decades of hunting deer in Huntingdon County!!
Warner steadied his trusty Remington Model 700 in .243 Winchester, and took careful aim. A single shot rang out, and the Deer instantly dropped where it stood.
When Warner's wife of 53 years Shirley, heard the news of the successful hunt and the beautiful buck that was harvested, she began to openly cry, and proclaimed the hunt to be "a miracle" for her husband.
Here is a photo of Lester Warner, together with his "miracle" buck:

Personally, I can't think of a better way for me to die as a old, old man than sitting in the woods on a cool morning deer hunt or a warm spring morning chasing turkeys.

Kind of a 'tear jerker'...great story, a pleasant way to go out.
...may this fellow have some additional successful hunts (in multiple seasons, that is...).
