Do you all keep the box/case that comes with a new firearm or opt to trash it instead?

    Trash.

They take up too much space.

I keep them. If I would have to pack up my guns for some reason I can. Also I don't have that many so storage isn't an issue.
There is something about firing 4,200 thirty millimeter rounds/min that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

keep. just like I keep all the boxes to my electronics and computers. makes for better resale, returns, resale with ship, etc. Counting attic space, the extra boxes take no space.

I wish I would have kept the original Magnum Research boxes that my Galil rifles came in. Just the empty cardboard boxes fetch $200.+ these days.

Vintage empty gun boxes DO get money these days.

My early Ruger Super Blackhawk box sold for $35. & S&W boxes (especially vintage ones) fetch bucks.

Same here, pretty much if it's fitted plastic or padded plastic I keep it, otherwise trash.

Quite often makes the difference between a sale or not. I keep all paperwork and anything else that came with the gun in the original case.

I have most of the original cardboard boxes my handguns were in and the sales reciepts as well.

'Sorely tempted to trash them. But who knows, maybe my son will want to sell them after I'm gone, and he'll do better with the box.

As many boxes as I get, I could heat the whole house with them.
