    Rack for pistol?

    Saturday, December 25th, 2010
Can any member help me with a real puzzlement.
We’ve got the rack that’s shown in the attached photo’s (let me know if they don’t open!) and ask if you think it is or might be a pistol rack. It is made in matching wood to a (three) rifle-rack and both are designed for wall mounting. The workmanship is exquisite and it is 32 inches wide, 38 high and has a six inch depth. Its back is three-fourths (¾) thick in solid wood and the whole thing weighs a heavy 40 pounds, empty! Is it anything you’ve seen previously and do you think it is a pistol rack? Or what? Would more photo’s help?
Your prompt response is appreciated and I really want to THANK YOU for the consideration given.
BEST of luck, health and success to you for far into the future.DSCN2006.JPGDSCN2007.JPGDSCN2008.JPGDSCN2020.JPG

    Welcome...

    from Central Florida!

It certainly does not look like any pistol rack that I've ever seen before......really not sure what it is.

Nice piece (so's the antique car!) - but highly unlikely that it's a pistol rack, based on the spacing of the "hooks". The odd number of hooks (47) may have some significance, OR maybe the 12 vertical "slots" has some significance. Possibly a rack for other sporting gear, such as golf clubs or fishing rods?

Got me....no idea!!! Welcome to the forum from South Carolina...
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

I would guess it is for mugs.

It looks like a rack to hang glasses with bases and stems, like wine glasses.
The preceding post may contain sarcasm; it's just better that way. However, it is still intended with construction and with the Love of my L-rd Y'shua.

    Welcome from Texas!

No idea on the rack, but it appears well made and unique...
