NYC sees 532 murders in 2010, up from last year

I thought this was an interesting article. Rapes and robbery were also up.

As of Dec. 31, there were 532 murders, up from 471 in 2009. The city has seen record lows in crime in the past decade, and last year's murder rate was one of the lowest ever.

Criminologists have said such increases should not cause worry and that the city is not returning to the days when there were more than 2,000 people slain per year.

We need to outlaw matches and lighters...except for cops of course...
We're all in favor of reducing violent crime. It's just that pro-gunners have a method that is proven effective. Anti-gunners don't.

Sounds to me like the "everything but allowing guns" crime control methods are reaching their limit.
