Saw these 1911s and SAAs at Graceland yesterday. He also was an auxillary member of the Memphis PD with the rank of Captain. Sorry the SAA photos are blurry. Only so much you can do in poor lighting with an iphone camera. I thought it was interesting though. He also had a room in a room of a stone building out back that was used as a shooting range.

I went to Graceland back in the 90's and was also impressed by The King's gun collection. They were awesome, but then he could afford the best.

I'll never forget the time I learned that he visited President Nixon in the oval office, and presented him with a gifted Smith' .38 revolver. From what I've read, the secret service were not aware of it before hand.

As many times as I've travelled to Memphis for business, I've never made my way over to Graceland. I need to get over there.

That whole street that Graceland is on is like zombieland. I think Elvis used it as his inspiration for "In the ghetto."

Thanks for the Elvis with the coffee.
Had to look up the lyrics of In the Ghetto, since you got me singing it here while doing laundry.
I keep thinking it would be more like "buys a gun steals a car".
