It has been the theme for the show since 1963, it is an original piece for the show. I guess this paints me as geek...

I have a Dr. Who scarf my mom knitted for me probably 25 years ago. The thing is probably 10 feet long and really warm! She was a big Dr. Who fan, too!

I for one always thought Baker was the best Doctor, back when the series had a special effects budget of duct tape and cardboard. Cheesy but fun. Although David Tennent is very good (his Hamlet opposite Patrick Stewart is outstanding). I had one of those scarves also. Sunday nights on public TV in CHicago.

I always thought the best Dr Who was played by Peter Cushing in Dr Who and the Daleks. Anyway, you can compare the newer version against the original here:

Pink Floyd even cover the Dr. Who song a long time ago.

My daughter and I love Dr. Who. David Tennant was very good, but the new Dr., Matt Smith is pretty funny. That's what I love about the show. Each actor has their own style, and it comes out in the character.

Thanks everyone. Glad to see I'm not the only geek here. I didn't know that Pink Floyd had done a cover, but I'm not really that surprised. But no, I know I've heard a song like the theme on the radio recently. Oh well, guess I'll just have to pay more attention to the radio for a while.

Actually, I hate to admit this, but I just started watching Dr. Who this year, so Matt Smith is the only Doctor I really know. I tried to watch some of the older episodes with David Tennant but it just seemed wrong to see someone else as the Doctor. Maybe in time I'll watch the earlier ones....

Started watching Dr. Who back in college (with a bunch of others in the student union building), been a fan ever since (cough*30 years*cough). Baker is still my favorite, but all of them since have been good, one way or another. The theme music has been basically the same. Be sure to let us know who on the radio sounds like the Dr. Who theme. I did not know that Pink Floyd did a cover - I'll have to tell another fan I know.
